Ian Rees (Wales)A classic and well-loved dictionary giving the meaning of Greek words used in the New Testament and written in a style ideally suited to the average Bible student who does not know any Greek. There are more complex Greek dictionaries available, such as the ‘Little Kittel’, for instance, but Vine’s is far and away the most accessible to the young Christian and has had an untold influence on Bible students for generations.

John Bennett (England)An invaluable help in that it gives the meaning of different Hebrew or Greek words that can be accessed through the English or the Strong’s number. It also opens up lines of study when a word occurs more than once as some of these are listed.

Ken Totton (England)Vine was an able scholar and has given us an invaluable help. It gives ordinary readers the meaning of different Hebrew or Greek words that can be accessed through the English or the Strong’s number. It also opens up lines of study when a word occurs more than once as some of these are listed. I’ve used mine from my schooldays, and wouldn’t be without it!

Richard Catchpole (England)This is an essential book for any who want to engage in serious Bible study. This book is easy to use and enables non Greek readers to access and enjoy the riches of the words in which the New Testament was initially written. As good a translation as the King James Authorised Bible undoubtedly is, sometimes the distinct significance of similar Greek words can be lost in the process of translation. Not only does this volume reveal those distinctions but also frequently includes a brief comment on the words as used in particular verses.

Alastair Sinclair (Scotland)Very useful for comparing different Greek words often translated by the same English words. A good companion work for Strong’s

Roy Hill (England)

Philip Kaye (England)Helpful in understanding the meaning of Greek words in our NT. To understand the meaning of a particular word can be a great help towards the correct understanding of a passage.

Stephen Baker (England)Another great asset

Jim McKendrick (USA)For the student with no knowledge of Greek this volume is indispensable. The newer editions are keyed to Strong’s Concordance which can be helpful. Learning the various English words translated from one Greek word or one the other hand various Greek words translated into one English word is valuable in understanding the fullness of both languages thus enhancing our Bible study. This greatly expands and enhances the dictionary in Strong’s Concordance.
